The Land of Stories by Chris Colfer

‘The Land of Stories: the Wishing Spell.’ (2012) is a fictional story about 2 children named Alex and Conner Bailey who get magically transported to The Land of Stories; a land where fairy tales are real. Alex and Conner must face Snow White’s evil stepmother the Evil Queen, in order to find the wishing spell items, which will grant them one wish. On the way, they will meet many fictitious characters such as Little Red Riding Hood, who is now Queen Red Riding Hood of the Red Riding Hood Kingdom, Jack, who climbed the beanstalk, is now living in a manor, and Goldilocks (My personal favorite) who is now a wanted outlaw with her horse Porridge because of the ‘Three Bears Incident’ which has made her have to steal to survive. I would recommend this book 10+, and the title may sound babyish to a 10 year old, but is definitely a fantastic read. My rating for this book is 5 stars, as it is my favorite book. To read the book you have to be familiar with fairy tales, so i advise you to do that first. There is also a second book in the series, called The Enchantress Returns, But i’m not going into that book. I have no dislikes to this book. So overall, you can see that i think it is a very good book.
